Rusty Kane on the Maori Language.

The Maori language is a indigenous living language of the past.
Like so many indigenous languages its future use is limited.
It has to be spelt and pronounced in its full entirety and context or its meanings and mana are lost.
Abbreviating the Maori language to say text, is impossible without its Mana and meanings being sacrificed.
The Maori language although beautiful is unlikely to adapt to the modern world.
Unlike the English language that constantly keeps evolving and changing with the times.
